The round table on Geoethics at the Geoitalia Conference

Pisa (Italy), 17th September 2013

The IX Italian Forum of Earth Sciences in Pisa will be the scene of a round table on Geoethics.
The event will be an occasion of debate between representatives of scientific community, political institutions and the world of mass media, on the role played by each of the "actors" involved in the defense against natural hazards, and at the same time, a moment for a reflection on the need to rediscover the value of the land as a founding element of the community identity and a resource to protect, being aware of the individual and social responsibility that this involves.
Among the guests will be attending the Dr. Enrica Battifoglia (Scientific Responsible of the ANSA Press Agency), Prof. Edoardo Cosenza (Councillor for Public Works, Civil Protection, Defense of Soil, Geotechnic, Geothermal Energy, Mines and Bogs, at the Campania Region), Prof. Stefano Gresta (President of the INGV - National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology), Dr. Claudio Margottini (ISPRA - Institute for the Protection and Environmental Research; Councillor for the Environment, Energy, Civil Protection, Parks System at the Municipality of Orvieto).
Moderator, Dr. Silvia Peppoloni (researcher at the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Secretary General of the IAPG - International Association for Promoting IAPG Geoethics).
